About Us
Stayton High School: On The Rise!
Serving the communities of Stayton, Sublimity, Lyons and Mehama
At Stayton High School, we strive to empower all students for life. We do this by making relationships the heart of our work, by holding students to high expectations academically and behaviorally, and by encouraging active participation both in and out of the classroom. The communities we serve are proud of our campus and the robust co-curricular programs we offer. We provide strong Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and our classrooms offer rich instructional practices where collaboration and inquiry-based learning are the norm. We use the AVID college and career framework to align our work to ensure our Eagles are future-ready and will soar.

SHS is proud of the systems we have in place to empower all students for life. This begins by creating ways for students to be successful in their classes. All students are supported by meeting with their Guide Groups four days a week. Guide Groups provide an opportunity to reinforce organization and time management habits and also provide social support with a consistent group. In Guide Group students receive information and instruction to help them be college and career ready. Guide Group meets extended learning requirements and students can earn half of an elective credit each year. Eagle Time occurs twice a week and is embedded into our Guide Group structure. Eagle Time is a structured study hall that allows students time to catch up on work or make up assessments.
