Guide Group for 9th Grade
In order to keep up on Extended Application requirements for graduation, students should have completed the following by the end of their freshman year*:
- 5 hours of Community Service
- 1 CRLE (Job Shadow, Internship or Work Experience)
- Reflection Paper also required to complete CRLE
Other requirements and tasks must be completed as part of the regular Guide Group requirements. See Guide Group page for specifics.
*These requirements must be met each year in order for students to complete their Extended Application requirements for graduation.
Remember...
Every class and grade counts. College-bound students will want to ensure that they don't get grades lower than a C in core classes such as English in order to have the best chance of getting into the college of their choice. Remember the Chemeketa Scholars program can provide two years of free tuition for students who earn an unweighted cumulative GPA or 3.5 or higher. The tracking period starts freshmen year and goes through the first semester of senior year so don't wait until 12th grade to start thinking about it! For more info, go to the Financial Aid/Scholarships page of this section.
Begin to think about the path that you/your student would like to take (i.e.: community college, 4-year university, job market). This will help you and your student know which classes to take in the next years.
